 |  | | | We are aware of the following limitations in our implementation of DICOM as a Java Image I/O Plugin. Each of these limitations may be overcome in future versions of the plugin. If one or more of these limitations are important to you and prevent you from using our plugin, please contact us so that we give a higher priority to the corresponding missing feature. - When writing and sending images, only ComponentSampleModels are supported.
- Bits Allocated other that 8 or 16 are not supported. This concerns only two SOP classes : Multi-frame Single Bit SC Image and some RT Dose images.
- The HSV and ARGB Photometric Interpretation are not supported. They are defined in the standard but not used in any standard SOP classes anymore. They have been retired in DICOM 2003.
- Palette images with signed pixel values could theorically be used to encode some nuclear medicine images but are almost never used. They are not supported.
